Re-forging stock is the most economical way to buy Clarke Knives Damascus.
Not only is it a lower cost per Kg but by forging to near net shape you will make it go further.
Our Damascus is made from 1095 & 15N20 in 120 & 200 layer billets, in varying widths, and either 4.5 – 7 mm thick or 12-14 mm thick (good for integrals). It is a plain layered pattern which will reveal a random pattern after re-forging.
The billets are supplied as forged with only the coarse scale removed. After re-forging you will need to normalise or anneal. Full instructions will be sent with the billets.
